Dr. Tortland teaches at national ultrasound course

Dr. Tortland was part of a small group of elite instructors at a recent training program to teach physicians how to perform injections under ultrasound guidance. The course, hosted by MSK Ultrasound, was held at San Francisco General Hospital’s Orthopedic Training Institute October 6-7. Over the two days attending physicians were taught how to perform ultrasound-guided injections of joints, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.

MSK Ultrasound is THE premier internationally recognized leader in instruction for musculoskeletal ultrasound. Dr. Tortland is consider a “core (senior) faculty” and has been teaching with MSKUS since 2009. Proper use of ultrasound is essential in making sure that injections of PRP, stem cells, and even steroids are performed accurately and safely.
